Citizen Observer Program Experience

E-mail Print

Better Agreements is pleased to offer the opportunity for interested individuals the opportunity to observe the mediation process.  The program known as COPE (Citizen Observer Program Experience) is unique.  As far as we have been able to determine there is no other program like it being used by other community mediation centers.  The purpose of the program is to raise awareness about and knowledge of mediation as a dispute resolution process.

How the program works:
  1. Complete and mail registration form to Better Agreements and registration fee.
  2. Better Agreements will contact you with in seven business days to set up an initial interview required for program participation.
  3. After completing the interview and being approved to participate in the program dates scheduling preferences will be noted.
  4. Observation will occur at the time and place that mediation appointments are regularly scheduled.
  5. You will get a chance to be briefed by the mediator before observing and to debrief with the mediator after the observation.

We ask for $25.00 to cover the cost of coordinating schedules and matching you with a mediation observation opportunity.
